Welcome to another week of CASEing the Catty. Can you believe that Christmas is just around the corner and that today is our second last challenge for the year?!? It’s been great being able to share our take on the challenges each week (well most weeks as I have missed a few along the way when life got super crazy this year). I hope you’ve enjoyed everything that we have shared with you.
This week we are CASEing the sketch of the card on page 47. Here is a simplified sketch of the above card.
I started with a Basic White cardbase. I then cut a piece of the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP the same size as the front of the card. Before attaching it to the card base I added the angled piece of Basic White which I had stamped the sentiment and mini peppermint bunches from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set. I added the Real Red Mini Ruffled Ribbon and then attached this to my card base. I stamped the peppermints in Real Red on some scrap Basic White cardstock and cut them out using the coordinating Gingerbread Dies before adhering them with some Dimensionals™. I added a few of the Red Rhinestones to the centre of the peppermints to finish them off.
I then decided to make a second version using the gingerbread but I’m not sure I’m 100% happy with this version. I do prefer the peppermint one. The DSP comes from the same pack but this time I stamped the gingerbread icing image in Cinnamon Cider to the left top and bottom corners, then stamped and die cut out the gingerbread image, raising it on Dimensionals™. This time I scattered a few Red Rhinetones around.
So, which card do you prefer? Do you prefer the peppermint one like me?
Make sure you keep hopping around the design team to see what everyone came up with using this sketch. Next up is Judy.
Why don’t you join in this week’s challenge? We’d love to see what you come up with using this sketch. You can use any products that you have with the sketch. Please share what you come up with on our Facebook page.
Until next time, happy stamping
Michelle
I think that they are both great cards, but yes, the peppermint is my favourite. Such a cheerful and happy Christmas card.
Tough call on favourite, I like them both. I think if I really had to choose the peppermint one would just nudge out the cookies.
Both great cards, Michelle, but I love the peppermint version; it so clean and fresh.
So far so good, I’ll vote for the peppermint too. The colours seem a bit more clean and fresh somehow.
