How fast are these days flying by at this time of the year? Way to quickly and not enough hours in one day for me to get everything done that I need to get done unfortunately. Hopefully only a few more weeks of craziness and then a little break to relax and spend time with family (provided that Covid plays nice and we can actually catch up this year). This week we are taking a non-Christmas project and giving it a Christmas Twist. I love this idea. Whether you pick a layout, technique, colour scheme etc, just make sure your project has that Christmas twist.
I decided to case the “friends forever” card on page 30 of the 2021 – 2022 Annual Catalogue that you can see in the top left of the image below and give it a Christmas twist using the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set and Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP.
I started with a White card base. I then cut another piece of Basic White the same size as the card front and stamped the snowflake gingerbread image in Cinnamon Cider and the peppermints in Real Red from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set all over the piece. I then added a strip of coordinating DSP from the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP to the left side of this panel. The sentiment was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Cinnamon Cider cardstock and cut out using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. It was all finished off with some Real Red Mini Ruffled Ribbon.
The card came together relatively quickly so would be easy to make multiples. You almost can’t tell that I stamped the gingerbread & peppermints and it could easily be mistaken as DSP. I love making my own DSP to match colour schemes and themes that you need.
Next up on our Christmas twist hop is Peta. I can’t wait to see what she has come up with this week. Make sure you keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s Christmas twist projects.
There are so many projects to choose from and we’d love to see your Christmas twist. Make sure you share your creation on our Facebook page.
Until next time, happy stamping
Michelle
oooh, this is soooo cool! Your stamped section really *does* look like DSP! An awesome card that I like better than the original.
Your stamping is so perfect I really thought is WAS DSP!! Brilliant project and stunning colours!!
I love your self stamped DSP! It looks just like the “real” thing. Such a fun card
