CTC295 – The Annual Inside Cover

What a whirlwind of a week it has been. First gyms and a few other things were closed effective Monday at midnight, then on Wednesday it was announced that we were going into lockdown for 6 days where schools and all non-essential services were closed which would be followed by a further 8 days of restrictions being eased a bit. So we had two days of both hubby and I trying to work from home with our two kids with us, then on Friday it was announced that we were coming out of lockdown early effective midnight Saturday (last night). So kids are back at school on Monday and life can go back to some sort of normal.

Can you believe all of that has happened since our last CASEing the Catty challenge? Well it’s time for another CASEing the Catty challenge and this week we are CASEing page 1 (the inside cover) of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.

You can see the cards we could case in the image above and I decided to CASE the blue card but turn it into a Christmas card.

I started with a Shaded Spruce card base and then added a layer the same size of the card base of the star pattern in Shaded Spruce from the Classic Christmas DSP pack. I the cut the stars out using the Stitched Stars Dies in both Real Red and Shaded Spruce and layered them on top of each other.

I cut out the letters of Christmas in Real Red using the Playful Alphabet Dies and attached them to a Whisper White strip that I cut the end using the Banners Pick a Punch. The “merry” came from the Tree Angle stamp set which was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder on Real Red and cut out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies. I added a piece of Real Red Double Stitched Satin Ribbon under the sentiment and the card was done.

Can you see the elements I used from the original card? The layout is similar. The sentiment has been done in a similar way. The star replaces the flower. The DSP covering the whole card front.

Next up on the hop is the lovely Peta. I wonder whether Marvi has cooperated this week. Make sure you keep hopping around to see what all of the design team has come up with this week.

Which card will you use as your inspiration this week? We’d love to see what you come up with so please share it on our Facebook page by clicking the image below. For those of you who haven’t finished making your Christmas cards, why not use one of these cards for your design.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle

  1. Wonderful Christmas card! I love that we CASE-d the same card and used similar elements but the cards are still different.
