CTC412 – Sketch with Nature’s Prints

Doesn’t Sunday evening come around so quickly? Yes, it’s true. Here we are again with another CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge. This week we have a sketch challenge for you. It’s a sketch of the Way to Grow card on page 38 in the January to April 2023 Mini Catalogue. The best thing about sketch challenges is that you can use any colours and any products you like. Just use the sketch as the basis for your card design. It’s that simple.

Above you can see the original card and then a simplified sketch of that card. Below is a close up of the sketch.

I started with a Starry Sky card base and then cut another mat of Starry Sky that was 1/2cm smaller on each side. Before attaching this to the card front I ran it through the Fern 3D Embossing Folder and then sponged some Craft White Ink over the raised sections to give it some more definition. I then cut a rectangle of Gray Granite cardstock and then used the die from the Blossoming Happiness Dies to make it look like I’d ripped it out of a spiral notebook. I added some splotches in Gray Granite from the Nature’s Prints stamp set. The various leafy stems also come from the Nature’s Prints stamp set and I stamped these in Gray Granite, Starry Sky & Night of Navy before cutting them out using the coordinating Natural Prints Dies. I finished the card of by heat embossing the sentiment onto Starry Sky card stock & raising it on Dimensionals™.

You can keep hopping around all of the cards that the design team has created this week but clicking the next button until you’ve been full circle. Next up is Peta with her take on this sketch.

After seeing the sketch for this week’s challenge, which stamp set has come to mind for you to use? We’d love to see what you come up with so don’t forget to share a photo of your creation on our Facebook page. Just click the image below and it will tak you there.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
