CTC411 – Best Day Colouring

We are here with another CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge and I’ve actually managed to participate in two in a row. Things are still a bit crazy around here but I’m trying to fit in a bit of normality to keep me going. Things that happen in life make you realise what really is important and to make the most of each and every day. I’m trying to spend more time with my family, but also have some time out for me doing things I enjoy like making cards.

This week we are casing a colouring project. I used to use lots of different colouring methods (I really should go back to using some of them) but my go to these days in the Blends™. So, I grabbed my trusty Blends™ and set to work.

I chose to use the Best Day stamp set and took my inspiration from the cards on page 67 which you can see in the image above.

For my first card I started with a Bermuda Bay card base and then cut another piece of Bermuda Bay the size of the card front and ran that through the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. The Coastal Cabana DSP comes from the Dandy Designs DSP that you may have picked up for free during the recent Sale-a-bration, The pussy cat cupcake comes from the Best Day stamp set, along with the sentiment which was then layered on a piece of vellum.

For my second card I started with a Pool Party card base and then layered a Pool Party piece of DSP from the Design a Daydream DSP pack. The happy birthday cake is also from the Best Day stamp set and coloured in with Blends™. The image was cut out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies and a few Rhinestones finished the card off.

Next up is Peta with her colouring project. Make sure you keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s colouring projects this week.

What is your favourite way to colour? Do you like Blends™, watercolour pencils, Stampin’ Write Markers, blending brushes or another method of colouring? Whatever your favourite is, we’d love to see it so please share a photo of your creation on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
