CTC343 – Case an animal card

Well we’ve made it through another week and it is now only 7 weeks until Christmas! Can you believe that?!? 7 weeks! If you haven’t started making your Christmas cards yet, now is the time to do it. I’ve enjoyed trying to make very different styles of Christmas cards this year and today I’m sharing with you yet another one. This week the CASEing the Catty Design Team is casing an animal card from the catalogues.

When I started looking through the pages, there are actually a lot more cards that have animals on them than I first thought there would be. I was tossing up between a few different cards but finally decided on the card with the circle cut outs on the right of the image below that uses the Picture This Dies.

I decided to flip the card on it’s side and omitted the red from my card using Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana as my colours which aren’t the normal “green tones” I would go to for Christmas cards but love how it ended up. So I have a Coastal Cabana card base then a mat of white that I first used the Picture This Dies and then ran it through the Big Shot again in the Star-Crossed Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is half crossed likes and half stars on the diagonal and I hadn’t used it as a whole before (only using the star section on a card previously) but think it gives the card a little more interest.

The images come from the Joyful Life stamp set and were coloured in with Blends™. The sentiment was heat embossed with White Embossing Powder onto Bermuda Bay card stock and a few pieces of Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay DSP from the Brights 6×6″ DSP Pack.

Next up is Peta. We’ve actually both cased the same card this week but our versions still look very different. It looks like the card I chose to case this week was a popular choice of the design team. Keep hopping around to see all of this week’s projects.

Which animal project will you case? We’d love to see what you come up with so make sure you share your creation on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle

  1. I love how different the layout looks in landscape, Michelle. The embossing folder works so well with it, too. Great CASE.

  2. oh this is just perfect – love these colours and they look brilliant for a Christmas Card!! Love the embossed background too!!!
