CTC337 – Time to step it up

Welcome to another week of CASEing the Catty. We’ve had a great day today at Monarto Zoo. My MIL finally got to do her Meerkat Experience which we gave to her for Christmas almost 2 years ago. She was booked in the week after Covid took off in March 2020 so it was cancelled, we rebooked over the last summer and we had 3 consecutive days of temperatures over 40 degrees so the zoo had to cancel it so that it didn’t stress the Meerkats out. So today was the day, finally!

This week we are caseing the July – December Mini Catalogue & stepping it up. I chose to case the image project in the image below which is on page 11 of the mini catalogue. I tried stepping it up and changing it to a birthday card.

I started with a Balmy Blue card base and cut another mat of Balmy Blue cardstock. From this mat piece, I cut out the cloche using the Cloche Dies. I then used the Sweets & Treats stamp set and stamped the cupcakes and cake stand onto white before colouring them in with Blends™ and fussy cutting them out. I was going to make this into a shaker card but decided not to in the end and think I still stepped it up enough. I added a layer of white behind the cloche mat.

As you can see in the photo below, I added a window sheet, which is much easier to see in real life. The icing on the cupcakes also has some Wink of Stella on the to give that little bit more sparkle. The sentiments come from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and Pirates & Mermaids stamp set.

Next up on this week’s hop is Rachel with her stepped up project. Keep hopping around to see all of the projects that our design team has created this week.

How will you step up a project? Add some layers or extra elements? Add a more difficult technique? Whatever you decide, we’d love to see what you come up with so please share it on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
