CTC300 – The Mini Catalogue

Woo hoo! It’s CASEing the Catty’s 300th Challenge today and what a way to kick off the new 2021 January to June mini catalogue. There are still a few members of the design team who have been doing it since the very beginning. That’s a lot of challenges that they have participated in. We all love a new catalogue and what better way to share it with you than to have a challenge where we case the new 2021 January – June Mini Catalogue.

There are so many projects in the new catalogue to case. I decided to case the plane card from page 70 that you can see on the left of the image below but used the Snail Mail bundle instead. The elements I took from this card was the cut out shape that was left on the card in the cut out space, the tab coming out from behind it and I used DSP instead of the sponged background. Hopefully you can see some similarities.

I started off with a Granny Apply Green card base and then added a layer of DSP from the Brights 6 x 6 DSP pack that will be available in the upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue, or you can get it for free now by joining during Sale-a-bration. I stamped and coloured the images from the Snailed It stamp set with Blends™ and then cut them out using the coordinating Snail Dies.

I then cut the circle out of the front of the card using the Stitched Shapes Dies and added a flag of Granny Apple Green cardstock behind the left side of the circle.

To create the inside and the main part of this fancy fold, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was 14.3cm x 15.75cm and scored it at 5.25cm and 10.5cm on the long side. I then stamped the inside sentiment and glued the back panel to the inside of the card. Once folded flat I then adhered the right hand half of the circle cut out to the folded Whisper White through the hole in the front of the card.

I love how simple yet effective this card was to make. I then made a second card which is essentially the same, but slightly darker colours. The card base and DSP is Old Olive rather than Granny Apple Green. The snail and Toadstools used Old Olive, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler and a little Night of Navy mixed with Balmy Blue.

I’m looking forward to sharing lots of new products in the coming weeks. Next up is Rachel with a great collection of cards that she cased from one of the kits. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s projects and you might get to see a number of new products from the new 2021 January – June Mini Catalogue.

We would love for you to have a go at this challenge. You can pick any project from the 2021 January – June Mini Catalogue and case it. Will you pick a technique, colour scheme, layout or something different from the project? Please share your creation on our Facebook page by clicking on the image below.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
