CTC267 – Ornate Garden

Happy Easter everyone!  So we’ve made it to Sunday, just.  How has everyone survived this week?  It’s been tough here being the first week that I have had both kids (4yr old & 6yr old) home from school, trying to home school them while both my husband and I are working full time from home, with a lot of our work being on phones.  Things are definitely going to be interesting around here for a little while as we adapt to how things are at the moment.

Anyway, onto this fortnight’s challenge.  At CASEing the Catty for #CTC267, we are being inspired by the flowers from the Ornate Garden Suite which is the suite that Stampin’ Up!® has released early from the upcoming 2020 – 2021 Annual Catalogue.  As I haven’t actually purchased anything from this Suite as yet, I decided to try and create my own version of the large stamp from the Ornate Style stamp set which combines a number of different flowers and leaves.  You may be able to see it in the image above in a few of the cards or in the video below.

Here is what I came up with …

I have used the daisies and stems from the Daisy Lane stamp set, the smaller flowers and leaves from the Free as a Bird stamp set and the larger flowers come from the Band Together stamp set.  I then coloured each of the images in using Blends™ in Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Petal Pink and Calypso Coral.

I have used Basic Grey for my card base and mat to try and make the flowers stand out a little more against the darker background.  The mat was embossed using the Stone 3D Embossing Folder that was a freebie during Sale-A-Bration.  As I wanted the floral image to be the focal point of the card, I kept the sentiment quite small and simple using the “Happy Birthday” from the Label Me Bold stamp set in Calypso Coral.

So what do you think?  Do you think I managed to replicate the large floral image using other Stampin’ Up!® stamp sets?

Next up on the hop is Rebecca. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the design team have come up with, using the flowers from this new suite as their inspiration.  Make sure you keep hopping around to check them all out yourself.

Even if you haven’t purchased this Suite yet, it doesn’t matter.  You can create your project with other items that you have.  Just use the flowers from this suite as your inspiration.  We’d love to see what you come up with so please share your creation on our Facebook page.  You never know, your creation could be selected as the Crew Pick for this fortnight’s challenge.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle

  1. You’ve done an amazing job, I might not have picked that you’d put your own bouquet together if I hadn’t read your blog. Clever girl!

  2. totally gorgeous and super creative to design your own bouquet. I think you are going to need crafting as an outlet after working fulltime from home while schooling as well- I take my hat off to you and I wish you lots of success, enjoy the moments of surprise which are sure to be a big part of it!
