Tranquil Tulips for Everyday Occasions

Well, it’s time to share another card, or two with you. I’m playing along with the CASEing the Catty challenge again and this week for #CTC139, we are CASEing the Everyday Occasions section again on pages 18-67 of the Annual Catalogue.

There were a number of images that I looked at for my inspiration, but finally decided on the bottom two cards on page 56.

These cards use the Petal Garden Memories and More card pack and Graceful Garden stamp set,  neither of which I have. Having not used the Tranquil Tulips stamp set before, I decided to use this to try to replicate the images on the cards. This is a great stamp set which is only available for hosts or for those who place orders over $250.

For this card I used Berry Burst (stamped off) and Rich Razzleberry for the flowers and Old Olive for the stems and leaves. The two step stamping helps to give dimension to the images.

I have used the sentiment from the Eastern Beauty stamp set and cut this out with the circle die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits. This is layered on top of a folded back piece of Finely Woven Ribbon in Powder Pink.

For the second card I used Calypso Coral for the tulips with one in full strength and one stamped off. This time I used Wild Wasabi for the leaves.  The sentiment comes from the Special Celebrations stamp set. The banner behind the sentiment was run through the Big Shot in the Seaside embossing folder.

So what do you think of my version of these cards?  Which colour combination do you prefer?  Remember to use the catalogue for your inspiration and take whatever you like from the images to make your own version.

If you would like to try your own card from this section of the catalogue, head on over to the CASEing the Catty Challenge Facebook page and join in.

Until next time, happy stamping …
