CTC332 – Inky Mermaid

Well let’s start off by wishing Tina a very happy birthday for today! You may have just hopped on over from her page or you may be starting here. Either way, make sure you wish her a happy birthday. Tina, I hope you’ve had a lovely day. Well here we are for another week of CASEing the Catty and this week we are CASEing our Favourite Annual Catty Suite.

Now which suite is my favourite? That question of my favourite is always so hard to answer. I like a lot of things. I decided on the Expressions of Ink Suite on page 96 of the Annual Catalogue. Although I haven’t purchased anything from this suite yet, I really like the alcohol ink look, so decided to case the card on the right in the image below.

I started with a White cardbase and then tried to recreate the ink background using vellum, Blends™ and isopropyl alcohol. I used Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay, Shaded Spruce & Night of Navy.

The mermaid comes from the Pirates & Mermaids stamp set that I coloured in with Blends™ and cut out with one of the Layering Circle Dies to represent the roundish flower image. I added the sentiment that was heat embossed in White Embossing Powder and some Rhinestones as a bit of bling in replace of the gold elements. Ok so I may not have used any items from the suite I was casing, but I definitely used the suite and the card I cased as my inspiration.

Next up on the hop is Peta with her favourite suite project. Make sure you keep hopping around to see an array of projects.

Which is your favourite suite from the Annual Catalogue? We’d love to see what you come up with for this week’s challenge. Make sure you share it on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
