Is it just me or is this year really flying by? In one way it feels like we haven’t done much due to Covid, but on the other hand we are already half way through August. And here we are for another CASEing the Catty Challenge.
This week we are CASEing the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue. That’s right, anything from the whole new mini catalogue! Well I didn’t get far before I decided on a project to case. I chose the Peppermint Kisses Pillow Box in the middle of the image below which is on page 8 of the catalogue.
I changed the theme up a little though as I decided that I wanted to make these as little thank you gifts to be given to teachers later in the year.
I started with some different designs from the Pattern Party DSP that you can get using Host Rewards. I then grabbed the Pretty Pillow Box Dies and cut out the pillow boxes and little tags. Can you tell I have one male teacher this year?
Once I had cut out all of the pillow boxes, I had a look through my dies to see what I could use to decorate my boxes. For the one above I used the Gingerbread Dies to make these striped little lollies.
These flower dies come in the Pretty Pillow Box Dies and I cut these out in Flirty Flamingo, Poppy Parade & Mango Melody to match the colours in the paper.
These little stars come from the Give It a Whirl Dies, which I still haven’t had time to sit down and have a play with yet.
As I was attaching the sentiment panel on the front, I needed the recipient to be able to easily open one of the ends to get into their goodies. I found that this was a little difficult the way it was, so I grabbed my 3/4″ Circle Punch (retired) and punched a little finger hole. This has made it so much easier to open.
Next up is my fellow SA demo Tina with her creation from the new mini catalogue. I’m looking forward to seeing lots of new goodies being used by the design team this week, so make sure you keep hopping around so that you don’t miss them either.
We’d love to see what you come up with for this week’s challenge. Make sure you pop on over to our Facebook page and share your creation.
Until next time, happy stamping
