CTC269 – Farewell to Tropical Oasis

Welcome to another week of CASEing the Catty.  Whether you’ve hopped on over from Siobhan’s creation or are starting here with me, I hope you continue to hop around all of the design team’s creations to give you some inspiration using some of the retiring items before the new catalogue goes live in early June.  If you are after any of these retiring items, make sure you grab them before they are gone!

For the next fortnight we are CASEing our Favourite Retiring Bundle.  One I have loved and haven’t used in a while was the Tropical Chic stamp set and coordinating Tropical Thinlits Dies, so I pulled them out and set to work.

I’ve been wanting to make a Reverse Easel Card for a while and now was the perfect time with this bundle.  I incorporated the retired Tropical Escape DSP which goes so perfectly with the stamp set and dies.  I apologise in advance that this will be a photo heavy post!

This card started with a Blushing Bride card base and the images were stamped in Shaded Spruce and Blushing Bride.  I used the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and Stitched Shapes Dies.  This is when the card is closed.

I added Granny Apple Green to the stamped images in this card.

This is what the inside of the card looks like.  The leaves and flower are popped up on Dimensionals™ to hold the front flap when the card is opened.

Here you can see the card from the side when it is open.

I love how you can make a fairly simple card look amazing with this bundle and will miss being able to grab it for a quick card.  I don’t think it will be leaving my stash any time soon, so I might sneakily grab it from time to time.

Next up is Monique with her beautiful card.  It’s hard to pick a favourite, so it will be interesting to see which bundles the rest of the design team choose.  Make sure you keep hopping around.

We would love to see what you come up with so make sure you add your creation to our Facebook page by clicking the image below and adding it directly to the page. No blog needed, so no excuses not to join in!

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
