CTC241 – CASEing a layout

Welcome to another week of CASEing the Catty.  Whether you have hopped on over from Julia’s beautiful collection of cards or are starting here with me, enjoy your hop around the design team’s projects.

This week we are CASEing one of the layouts on page 101 which you can see in the image above.  So I decided on the elephant card above and although it started out looking very similar to the original layout, it may have morphed a little bit as it went along.  I still think it looks like I cased that layout, but what do you think?

I started with a Mint Macaron card base and then cut another piece of Mint Macaron a bit smaller.  To this smaller piece I stuck pieces of the Mosaic Mood DSP that I punched out using the Tailored Tag Punch.  It is a bit hard to see in this photo and it looks like it’s just a piece of DSP, so I’ve included a close up photo below.  Hopefully you can see it a bit better in that photo.

I used the Dino Days stamp set and Dino Dies to create the dinosaur in Calypso Coral and Garden Green and the leaves/branches also in Garden Green onto Very Vanilla and then the tree trunk in Soft Suede onto Crumb Cake cardstock.

The sentiment was stamped onto Very Vanilla in Garden Green ink, cut out using the Rectangles Stitched Dies and attached using Dimensionals™ and some baker’s twine in a bow on the corner.

So here’s my thinking about the CASE – the background is the same design but using the Tailored Tag Punch instead of the Stitched Nested Dies, the dinosaur and sentiment are in similar location to the elephant and sentiment but just not one the same piece of cardstock, the baker’s twine bow is there and the tree represents the ribbon off to the side of the main banner.  So that’s still the same layout, isn’t it? LOL

Next up is Peta. Make sure you keep hopping around to check out all of the other wonderful creations for this week.

With some great layouts to choose from here, why not create your own card and add it to our Facebook page by clicking the image below?  We’d love to see what you come up with!

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle

  1. I think it is a great CASE, maybe not so immediately obvious, but has the key elements. I too shook thinks up a little with my CASE of the same card this week. Love your dino colour combo by the way.

  2. I love where your creative journey took you! The final result is a super cute card! Love these bright fun colours. And CASEING is always fun to see where we end up!

  3. The background is perfect for your DIno, Michelle – so cute! I love seeing how the creative process evolves from the same starting point.
