Something new … Magical Day

This week the Just Add Ink Challenge  is “Just Add Something New”, so that’s exactly what I did.  I also combined it with a Build a Card Game that was run online by another demonstrator.  It was fun to play.  Each day you got a new step but you had no idea what the next steps were going to be or how your card would end up.

For my something new, I chose to use the Magical Day stamp set.  As soon as I saw the new Occasions Catalogue, this was the first stamp set that jumped out at me and I just had to have it.  Having a 4 year old boy and a 2 1/2 year old girl, this set is just perfect and will be used many times in the future.  I recently got this stamp set and hadn’t had a chance to get it inky yet, so this was the perfect opportunity.

Here is what I came up with …

I used the Stampin’ Up! Blends to colour in the dragon, using the Rich Razzleberry and Pink Pirouette.  They blend so nicely together.  I still need practice, but think it worked quite well.  The Magical Day stamp set comes with a variety of images – unicorn, mermaid, dragon, knight and a wizard.  And it’s not just for kids, this set is great for adults too.

Why not join in the challenge and “add something new” to your project?  It can be an item you’ve recently purchased or a new technique you haven’t tried yet.  Click on the image below to join in the fun.

Until next time, happy stamping

  1. This dragon is perfect for a magical card. I love the little candy dots and the brick wall background gives it a lovely medieval feel. Chantell Just Add Ink

  2. This is so cute Michelle! Your colouring is fantastic and I love how you’ve layered the dragon beside the castle ( brick) wall too – so fun! Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week.

  3. Michelle I just love this. Your dragon is a colourful and fierce creature against those stark castle walls! Thanks for showing us your something new project at Just Add Ink this week.
