CTC410 – Rain or Shine Embossing

Well, here we are, another Sunday and another Caseing the Catty challenge. I’ve made it again this week after a few weeks off, yet again. These coming weeks/months I may be a bit hit & miss with my creations and sharing them with you as I’m dealing with a lot of family things in the background which isn’t giving me a lot of time to create. Between flying back and forth interstate, to keeping things going at home, something had to give. I will join in as much as I can and look forward to sharing more projects with you.

This week we are casing a project from either catalogue which uses an Embossing folder. I love how embossing folders give such a great effect to a card with minimal effort. I decided to case the little piggy Oh Happy Day card that is at the bottom middle of the image below which uses the Rain or Shine Suite. I hadn’t used this suite yet so thought I’d stay with the same suite for my card.

I started with a Balmy Blue card base and then cut another card front in Balmy Blue which I ran through the Raindrops Embossing Folder to create this lovely rainy background. I then cut out one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies for my central panel and stamped the bunny jumping in the puddle. I then also stamped the turtle, flowers and clouds from the Playing in the Rain stamp set onto scrap white cardstock and then coloured all of the images in with Blends™. Don’t you just love when there are coordinating dies? I used the Playing in the Rain Dies to cut out the various images so that I could layer them with Dimensionals™ to give some extra depth.

For the sentiment, I ended up using one from the Sending Support stamp set that you may have just picked up as a freebie in the recent Sale-a-bration promotion. I thought it was perfect for this card, making this card just right for anyone going through a tough time to let them know that you are there for them.
