Welcome, it’s Sunday night and Caseing the Catty Blog Hop time again. This week we are casing the Texture Chic Specialty DSP which you can find in the 2022 – 2023 Annual Catalogue. I don’t have this DSP so I decided to create a card using some of the colours from the DSP and to try and create a similar look to the DSP and card designs found on page 98.
This is not my style at all, but I decided to give it a go and create a card for my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary. It may not have been the wedding anniversary they had hoped for with my MIL testing positive to Covid on their actual wedding anniversary date. We were going to go out for dinner the next evening with them to celebrate but that had to be put on hold. Don’t worry we will still get to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
The colours I chose to use were Petal Pink, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen & Gold. I started with a Petal Pink card base and then used a Petal Pink piece of DSP from the Design a Daydream DSP for the background. I then used the sprig from the Framed Occasions stamp set and Soft Succulent (stamped off), the little Eiffel Tower stamp from Ranunculus Romance in Petal Pink (stamped off) and the flower from the Framed Florets stamp set in Petal Pink (stamped off) to stamp over the DSP. (It may be a little hard to see the Petal Pink images in the photo, but they are a little clearer in real life). I also used some Petal Pink ink and Blending Brush to add some darker and lighter sections to the DSP, particularly around the edges.
I used the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper with the All That Dies and the retired Little Numbers Dies for the number 50. The Evening Evergreen sprigs, and Soft Succulent frame come from the Framed Florets Dies which is an early release from the January – June 2023 Mini Catalogue. You can even get an additional Christmas sentiment stamp set at the moment that matches with these dies also.
As I said, this is not my style at all, but I think it still turned out OK and does have the look of the Texture Chic Specialty DSP. Next up on this week’s hop is Rachel with her project.
Is this paper your style? Do you have a style? We’d love to see your creation so don’t forget to share it on our Facebook page.
Until next time, happy stamping
