CTC387 – Case a Punch Project

Well it’s been a wet and windy weekend here in the Adelaide Hills, but we’ve made it through to another Sunday evening and another CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge.

This week we are CASEing a Punch project from either catalogue and when you start looking through the catalogues, there are quite a few projects to choose from. Don’t think just because you don’t have any of the punches that you can’t join in the challenge this week. Have a look at my card and you’ll notice that I haven’t used any punches in my card but have still used elements of one of the punch projects as my inspiration for my card.

I decided to case the sailing card at the top left of the image above which is on page 81 of the annual catalogue and uses the Sailboat Builder Punch. I kept a lot of the element being the embossed mat which covers most of the card front, the 2 circles, the sentiment banner, the focal image and some Rhinestones.

I started with a Basic White card base and then embossed another white panel with one of the embossing folders from the Charming Landscapes Embossing Folders pack. I decided to add a small panel of Soft Seafoam to make the embossed panel stand out a bit more. I cut the 2 circles out then ran them through the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to try and get it to look a bit like snow and added a little ink with a Blending Brush to the larger one so it stood out a little more. For my focal image I used the Caroling Mice stamp set for the mouse & lamp post which I coloured in using Blends™.

Can you pick which song the little mouse is singing? The sentiment comes from the Santa’s Delivery stamp set.

Next up is Rachel‘s pretty punch project. Keep hopping around as I think you will see very different cards this week which may inspire you.

Which is your favourite Punch project in either catalogue? Don’t forget to share a photo of your creation on our Facebook page if you join in this week’s challenge.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
