Here we are, half way through July already and another CASEing the Catty Sunday Challenge for you. It’s been a crazy week with work and school holidays etc and just when I thought my back was almost better I went and hurt it again so I’m struggling again. But, I made it again. Luckily I’d almost finished my card before I hurt it again.
This week we are CASEing the Love, Thanks & Support Section on pages 56 to 77 of the annual catalogue. As you know, I’m not a very floral person when it comes to my cards and this section is full of floral projects so I really struggled to pick a card that I was going to case. I ended up deciding on this bee hive style card on page 74 that uses the hexagon shapes from the Beautiful Shapes Dies but as you can see, there are no flowers on my card.
I decided to use some of the new In Colors so looked through my stamp sets and saw the Dragonfly Garden stamp set which hadn’t seen any ink for a while. I stamped some dragonflies and coloured them in with Tahitian Tide & Orchid Oasis Blends™ before using the Dragonflies Punch to punch them out. After they were done, I decided to use the Parakeet Party for my hexagon background. I cut out some Parakeet Party cardstock with the hexagon dies, then some Basic White cardstock that I had used the Blending Brushes and some Parakeet Party ink on it (probably could have put a little less ink on them) and stamped the little butterflies from the same stamp set with just a little ink with the blending brushes so it wasn’t too white behind them.
When positioning these onto the Basic White card base I decided to flip the orientation. I raised the sentiment hexagon and the dragonflies on Dimensionals™. I added a few of the 2022 – 2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots to finish off the card.
Next up on the hop this week is Peta with her card for this week. How many floral cards do you think we will see on this week’s hop? Keep hopping around to see the rest of the design team’s creations.
We’d love to see a creation you make using this section of the catalogue as your inspiration. Just add your photo to our Facebook page.
Until next time, happy stamping
Michelle
Your card is delightful! It makes me think of summer, as I sit here rugged up after a cold and wet day! The bright colours are fabulous. I hope that your back is on the mend soon.
I like that you used an older stamp set for your CASE, and how delightful it turned out. Beautiful card.
Stunning colours Michelle, I love how you have made your card in landscape and added the little butterflies to some of the hexagons.
