CTC372 – Wishing you everything wonderful

Well this year is flying by, isn’t it? Can you believe that we are into June already and it’s getting cold with Winter officially starting? Well it’s also another Sunday and we’ve got another CASEing the Catty Challenge for you. This week we are casing the All Occasions section (pages 12 – 45) of the 2022 – 2023 Annual Catalogue. There are so many projects to choose from, so make sure you join in this week’s challenge.

I decided to choose the card on the right in the image below, which you can find on page 38 of the catalogue. I chose this as I liked how it had the black and white background and then the blended colour behind the sentiment. So these are the main pieces I took from the card and used on mine.

I decided to use the Best Butterflies stamp set for my background stamping and did this in Memento Black ink on the Basic White cardstock. Normally we would think of butterflies being all bright colours, but I really love the black and white contrast. For the sentiment I used Blending Brushes to start with, using Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet and Orchid Oasis inks to blend a background. I then used the Charming Sentiments stamp set for the sentiment and cut it out using the Sentiment Silhouette Dies. Don’t you just love how the dies cut out directly around the sentiment? No need for fussy cutting when you get this bundle!

I layered the first card onto a Parakeet Party card base and added some of the 2022 – 2024 In Color Matte Decorative Dots to finish the card off.

For my second card I used Sweet Sorbet as the card base and when I blended the inks for behind the sentiment, I added more ink this time to give a darker, richer coloured background. Which one do you prefer?

Next up is fellow South Aussie Tina with her creation for this week’s challenge.

We’d love to see your creation using any of the projects from the All Occasions section of the 2022 – 2023 Annual Catalogue so don’t forget to share your photo on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle

  1. Your black & white butterflies are stunning Michelle and just a touch of colour is a wonderful contrast.
