Well here we are, Sunday evening again and another week has passed us by. That means it is time for another CASEing the Catty Challenge & blog hop. These week we are CASEing an embossed project from either catalogue. This could be an embossing folder, heat embossing, embossing paste, dies that also emboss. Any type of embossing you like.
I decided to case the gumball machine card on page 12 of the January – June 2022 Mini Catalogue that you can see in the image below. I bought this bundle nearly 2 months ago and still hadn’t had a play, so this was a good excuse to get it out.
I ended up keeping the layout & elements fairly close to the original. I started with a Bermuda Bay card base, then cut a mat of Coastal Cabana which I ran through the Splatters Embossing Folder from the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders pack. The photo below managed to show the texture from this embossing folder quite nicely.
I stamped the gumball machine pieces from the Gumball Greetings stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink on Bermuda Bay cardstock before cutting the pieces out using the coordinating Gumball Machine Dies. I love how the front feature panel looks in the Silver Foil as it embosses & cuts the piece out in one go. I then cut another one of the handle and raised it on Dimensionals™ to make it look like you could turn it
Inside the Gumball Machine Shaker Dome is some of the Frosted Beads Assortment and a few extras that have spilled out of the machine stuck to the bottom of the card. How cute is the little flap at the bottom for the “gumballs” to come out of! I used the Tailor Made Tags Dies for the sentiment. I’m not a big one for decorating the insides of my cards but I did include the sentiment and small gumball machine on this occasion. It was really hard to get a good photo of the outside of the card without getting the glare & reflection on the shaker dome.
My daughter has already grabbed this card for her friend’s birthday party that she has on next week.
Next up is Peta with her embossed project. I can’t wait to hop around myself to see all of the wonderful creations our design team has to share with you this week.
What is your favourite type of embossing? We’d love to see what you come up with so please add a photo of your creation to our Facebook page.
Until next time, happy stamping
