First of all, Happy Father’s Day to all of fathers, grandfathers, step-dads and father figures out there. I hope you have had a lovely day with family. Well it’s also Sunday again and time for another CASEing the Catty Challenge. This week we are CASEing the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite. I love all of the Christmas baking and Gingerbread is one of the things I make every year (even though I don’t really like it) as everyone else loves it.
For my card this week, I chose to case the card that is in the middle at the bottom of the challenge image above which you can find on page 8 of the July-December 2021. I don’t have the stamp set from this suite yet as I’m getting it included at an event I’m going to later in the year, so I used just the Gingerbread Dies from the bundle on my card.
I started with a Real Red card base and added a mat of DSP from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP which a returning fave from last year. I then added another Real Red mat that was embossed in the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. For the gingerbread I cut the main image out of Crumb Cake with the Gingerbread Dies and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink to try and give it a baked look when they are a bit darker around the edge. I’m not sure if you can see it in the image, but you can when looking at the card in real life. The icing dies were cut out from Basic White cardstock, but before doing this, I stuck on the adhesive sheets which are such a must to make your life a lot easier when trying to stick them to the gingerbread. The sentiment comes from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set.
Next up is fellow SA stamping sister, Tina with her creation CASEing the Gingerbread & Peppermint Suite. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations.
We’d love for you to join in with this challenge. Once you’ve finished your creation, click the image below which will take you to our Facebook page and add a photo to our page.
Until next time, happy stamping.

It’s lucky I couldn’t find my dies or we might have been twinning it this week! Love how you’ve replicated the card with your own twist Michelle.
Your card is fabulous! I agree that the adhesive sheets are a must with these dies. I definitely prefer your version of this card over the catalogue sample.
The dies look marvellous!! What a wonderful card – so gorgeous and festive!!
I love the striped DSP in the background, Michelle and the embossed panel steps it up too. I think it is much nicer than the original!
