Well the kids went back to school on Wednesday ….. phew! My stress levels have gone down a little bit as I didn’t have to juggle work and homeschooling. My thoughts go out to all of those in NSW who are still having to do this. It’s Sunday night and we are here for another CASEing the Catty challenge. This Tuesday 3rd August the new July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue goes live (it was delayed starting by a month due to delays in getting products due to Covid) so today we are CASEing the front cover of the new mini catalogue. The cover is just the start and there are so many wonderful goodies inside.
When I looked at the cover, I decided to case the main gift box in the middle but changed it to a card. I tried to keep the colour scheme similar (Crumb Cake instead of the Kraft with the green and red). The other elements I used were the layered tag and the bow at the top.
I started with a Crumb Cake card base and stamped the little star stamp from the Be Jolly stamp set randomly across the front. I used two of the dies from the Hippo Dies for the layers and the sentiment comes from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set. Santa is also from the Be Jolly stamp set that I coloured in using Blends™. I added a few of the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. You may notice the stars that are embossed on the Pear Pizzazz layer. When I saw the Star-Crossed Embossing Folder in the catalogue I didn’t look as closely as I should. I thought it was one of the mini Embossing Folder packs that have 2 small embossing folders, one of each design but when it arrived I discovered it is actually one embossing folder which is half stars and half crossed which is split on a diagonal. I just used the star portion as my cardstock fitted in that section, but I’ll have to make another card now so that I can show you what the full embossing folder looks like.
I then made a second card but cut the size of the card base down a little so that it was almost square. The DSP comes from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP. The sentiment and stamp I used or the background come from the Penguin Place stamp set.
Next up is Sandra with her case of the July – December 2021 Mini Catalogue cover. Keep hopping around and you might get a sneak peek at some of the new goodies that are inside the mini catty.
Are you ready to make Christmas cards? Or will you just take the colours, or some other elements from the cover to use as inspiration for your creation this week. Click on the image below and share your creation on our Facebook page.
Until next time, happy stamping
