Welcome to another Sunday night and a new CASEing the Catty Challenge. Well this weekend I was supposed to be at a Christmas in July Cardmaking Retreat, however Covid got in the way again and we are currently in lockdown. Thankfully SA got onto it quickly and the numbers have been staying low, so hopefully we will be out of the lockdown and kids can go back to school soon. Trying to work full time at home while homeschooling kids at the same time is sooo much fun!
This week’s challenge is using the sketch from the card on page 33 of the catalogue. You can see the original card and sketch above. Using this as my starting point, I decided to use some new products which just happened to arrive on Tuesday. What perfect timing for my BBB to arrive seeing as we went into lockdown at 6pm Tuesday evening. If only the kids weren’t wanting things constantly, I might have had more time to sit down and play lol.
I added a piece of DSP from the Penguin Playmates DSP (available for free with a $90 spend during Sale-a-bration which runs from 3rd August to 30th September 2021) for my background. It matches perfectly with the Penguin Place Bundle (available in the upcoming July to December 2021 Mini catalogue – from 3rd August). I stamped the penguin image from the Penguin Place stamp set and punched it out using the coordinating Penguin Builder Punch. The feet were also punched out using the punch in Calypso Coral cardstock.
The white panel was run through the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder to try and give the impression of snow. It’s been cold enough here lately with hail from time to time that it has almost looked & felt like it was snowing.
I did stick to another birthday card this week, but might see if I can sneak in a Christmas card or two in the coming weeks.
Next up is Julia with her floral take on this sketch. I love how all of the cards that the design team come up with use the same sketch, but everyone has their own style which makes the creations look so different. Keep hopping around to see all of the design teams creations for this week’s challenge.
You can use any products you have for this week’s challenge, just use the sketch provided. We’d love to see what you come up with, so make sure you share it on our Facebook page. If you click the image below, it will take you straight to the page.
Until next time, happy stamping
