CTC315 – Case a Kit

Welcome to another week of CASEing the Catty. I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and for those of you with a Public Holiday tomorrow, enjoy the extra day off. I know I will be as my mum has come to visit us for the weekend. She hasn’t been here since June 2019 and I haven’t seen her since early July 2020 when we went to visit her (then had to quarantine for 14 days on our return) so it is wonderful to have her here.

This week we are CASEing a Kit from either catalogue and I’ve decided to case the You are Amazing Kit from the January to July 2021 Mini Catalogue. on page 7. I cased the 2 cards that you can see in the image below.

Here is my take on the cards keeping some of the elements the same, while changing up others using a number of retiring products.

For the first card I started with a Bermuda Bay card base and repeatedly stamped the image from the Parcels & Petals stamp set (retiring) in Bermuda Bay ink. The sentiment comes from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set and was stamped in Mango Melody. The panel behind the sentiment uses the small flower stamp from the Parcels & Petals stamp set stamped in Bermuda Bay, Pretty Peacock, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo, like the original. I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (retiring) on the Vellum and used the new Basic Borders Dies for the bottom of the Vellum.

For my second card I used the Pattern Play stamp set (retiring) to create a similar striped background in the same colours. I used the Stitched So Sweetly Die in Bermuda Bay for the mat and stamped the sentiment from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set in Pretty Peacock. A very bold but simple card.

Next up on the hop this week is Sandra with her case of one of the kits.

You don’t have to have the kit or any of the products in it, you can use anything from one of the kit projects as your inspiration. Technique, colour combo, stamp set, whatever. We’d love to see what you come up with, so please share your creation on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle

  1. Your cards are brilliant!! Love the way you’ve cased these cards using different supplies. They both look totally awesome.

  2. Snap on the kit to CASE Michelle. Clever to use stamping to recreate the patterns. Great that you kept the same bold cour choice too. Both lovely 🙂
