CTC309 – Case a Bundle

I don’t know about you, but it’s been a crazy week here. Here we are for another week of CASEing the Catty and this week we are CASEing the Bundles section of the January to June 2021 Mini Catalogue which you can find on pages 75 – 82.

I chose to CASE the Baby Shark card on page 79. A few years ago when my daughter was a little younger, we used to have to watch every version you could find online of the Baby Shark song and she would sing it all the time also. I’m pleased to say that I don’t have it stuck in my head all the time anymore, but when I saw this bundle, I had to get it!

I kept a lot of the elements similar to the original. To create the waves I used the blending brushes with Balmy Blue, Pool Party and Coastal Cabana on white cardstock and then cut the strips using the Shark Dies alternating which side I used at the top. The bubbles are cut out of the dies in Pool Party and so were the seaweed (which I sponged lightly).

The sharks come from the Shark Frenzy stamp set and are a 2 step stamp with the outline and then the fill colour which I used Smoky Slate on this occasion. The stamp set comes with so many accessories so that you can create any shark you like – baby, mummy, daddy, grandpa, grandma. I’ve used the hat, bag, lipstick and necklace on this card. I coloured some of these accessories in with Blends™.

I finished the card off with the sentiment heat embossed in White Embossing Powder.

When I stamped the sharks, I stamped quite a few of them and tried them in all different colours, so decided to make a second card. This time I made a long thin card and did the waves in Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana and added a little sponging to them also. This time the sharks were stamped in Blushing Bride, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue & Smoky Slate. By adding the glasses and the bow tie I thought perhaps this could be a teacher with a few baby sharks. Or maybe it’s daddy shark with some of his kids? What do you think?

So do you have the Baby Shark song in your head? I’m sure after looking at these cards you might. I still have a few stamped sharks leftover, so I’ll have to make another card one day with them.

Next up is Monique with her creation CASEing the Bundles section. Keep hopping around to get lots of inspiration from all of the design team.

There are quite a lot of projects in the Bundles section of the catalogue and we’d love to see what you come up with. Please share your case on our Facebook page by clicking the image below.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle

  1. I’m always grateful that my kids were too old for baby shark! I do love your cards though, they are super cute. I totally see a teacher shark in the last card. Great idea!
