Where has this week gone? I’ve had a crazy busy week and I’m feeling very exhausted so I’m glad that I managed to get a few weeks ahead with my cards while at a retreat I went to recently. Today is the last day of Sale-a-bration, so you have a few hours left to get some great freebies. And just in case you thought you didn’t need some of them, we are doing one last hop CASEing the Sale-a-bration Catalogue which may just persuade you to place one last order to grab some freebies before they are gone.
This week I decided to case the Thinking of You card from page 11 that you can see in the top right corner of the image below, but decided to use other SAB items to make my own version of this card.
I started with a white card base and then added a piece of the strawberry DSP from the Berry Delightful DSP (SAB item) to cover the front of the card. Instead of the gingham ribbon, I used the Metallic Edge Ribbon (White with Silver edge) and coloured it with my Poppy Parade Blends™ to create my custom ribbon. This is a great technique when you don’t have a ribbon in the colour that you need. If you have the white ribbon and Blends™, you can make it any colour that you need. The sentiment comes from the Berry Blessings stamp set (SAB bundle with the DSP) and I cut it out using the Stitched Rectangles Dies and a second one of the strawberry seeds design (which is the reverse side of the strawberry DSP).
As this was a quick card to make, I decided to make a second version using a different sheet from the DSP. It’s a bit harder to see the contrast DSP under the sentiment as it is a pale purples pattern and blends into the other DSP a bit. I stamped the berry and leaves and fussy cut them out before adding them to the top corner of the sentiment panel. The ribbon comes from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack.
Have I tempted you to place one more order so that you don’t miss out on these great freebies? If so, I’d love for you to place the order with me this evening.
Make sure you keep hopping around to get one last taste of the SAB catalogue. Next up on the hop is Peta with her gumnut creations.
Why not join in with this week’s challenge? You don’t have to use any of the items from the Sale-a-bration catalogue on your project, just use one of the projects in the catalogue as your inspiration. Make sure you share your creation on our Facebook page, which you can go to by clicking the image below.
Until next time, happy stamping
