With Australia Day just around the corner, you may have had a weekend of catching up with family and friends with a BBQ or a backyard game of cricket. I hope you’ve managed to have a bit of fun this weekend. Did you take an extra day off to have a 4 day weekend? We went to watch the Big Bash League on Thursday night and we are going again tomorrow night. We normally go to a few games but hadn’t managed to go so far this season, so it was great that they added a few extra games to Adelaide Oval so we could squeeze in a few. No matter what you are doing this weekend, it’s time for another challenge with CASEing the Catty.
This week we are CASEing a floral project from either catalogue. I chose the pink card in the middle of the image below (which can be found on page 76 of the January – June 2021 Mini Catalogue) and used a number of elements from it to make my card, but my card isn’t a floral card.
I started with a Cherry Cobbler card base and repeatedly stamped the (I’m not really sure what it is) star? stamp from the Darling Donkeys stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on the top left and bottom right corners of the card similar to the pink card above. I added a layer of Basic Gray and then used the new Blending Brushes with Cherry Cobbler ink to create the sponged background that you see behind the donkey. I stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner also.
The donkey is from the Darling Donkeys stamp set which is free during sale-a-bration with a $90 spend and I stamped this onto Whisper White before colouring it in with Blends™ and fussy cutting it out.
Next up for this week is Julia with her amazing project. Keep hopping around and I’m sure you will see a lot more florals from the rest of the design team.
When you start looking through the annual and mini catalogues, you really start to realise how many floral projects there are. I’m not a floral person and don’t tend to buy many floral stamp sets, but that doesn’t meet that you can’t join in the challenge. You can do what I did and took elements from a floral project but didn’t use florals for my project. Ok, the donkey may have a small flower in his mouth. Share what you create on our Facebook page. If you click on the image below, it will take you straight there.
Until next time, happy stamping
