CTC296 – Step up a Mini Project

Welcome to another week of CASEing the Catty. I’m glad it is a little cooler here today. Whether you’ve hopped on over from Sandra’s project or starting here, make sure you keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s project. This week we are CASEing a project from the Mini Catalogue and Stepping it up.

I decided to case the Life is Beautiful card that you can see at the top of the image below and made 3 versions for different levels of crafter – Beginner, Casual and Avid.

For my beginner card I stamped straight onto a Whisper White card base with the Life Is Beautiful stamp set. I stamped the tree and birdhouse in Sahara Sand, the leaves/flowers in Petal Pink and sentiment in Mint Macaron.

For the casual crafter I stamped the trees onto a mat and layered it onto a Whisper White card base. I used the Layering Circles dies to cut out the sentiment and raised up on Dimensionals™. I also stamped a second birdhouse in Mint Macaron and fussy cut it out before adhering it with a Dimensionals™.

For my Avid crafter I stepped it up a little more. I started with a Sahara Sand card base and added a mat of Sahara Sand that I ran through the Bricks & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. I then cut a smaller mat of Whisper White and stamped the same tree images, raised the birdhouse on Dimensionals™ again and for the sentiment I heat embossed it with White Embossing Powder onto Mint Macaron cardstock before cutting it out with one of the scalloped dies from the Layering Circles Dies which was raised on Dimensionals™ again.

Below you can see all 3 levels of cards together. Which is your favourite?

Next up is Rachel with her Christmas cards. I’m looking forward to seeing how the design team have stepped up their cards this week. Keep hopping around to see all of the creations.

For this week’s challenge you can either choose a project and step it up or step it down, or make all 3 levels of cards. It’s your choice. We’d love to see what you come up with. Please click on the image below and share your creation(s) on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping
