CTC280 – CASE the Aug-Dec 2020 Cover

Well it’s another Sunday and another CASEing the Catty Challenge.  As the new August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue went live on 4th August, today we are CASEing the cover of the new catalogue.  The catalogue includes lots of Christmas, bundles, suites, DSP etc, but there are plenty of other versatile sets in there for any occasion.

When I first started looking at the cover to pick which card I was going to CASE, I kept changing my mind, looking at the stamp sets I had, then changing my mind again.  I then looked at the Coming Home bundle that I got recently but hadn’t had time to use yet and decided I wanted to use that.  I then remembered something that Tina from our design team had done a previous time when we were casing the cover.  She cased the actual cover design, rather than one of the projects on the cover.  So I decided to do that as it would work perfectly with this bundle.

From the cover I’ve taken the blue sky, snow hills, trees and the houses & car represent the cards/projects.   I placed the sentiment to represent the title on the catalogue cover.  What do you think?  Does it look like the front cover of the catalogue?

I used a sponge brayer with some Seaside Spray ink to create the sky.  I did try stamping the stars, but I wasn’t happy with the result so decided to leave it plain.  I stamped all of the images from the Coming Home stamp set, coloured them in with Blends™ and then cut them out with the coordinating Home Together Dies.  I used the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder on the middle snow hills layer to add a bit of texture.  The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.  I then used some Wink of Stella over the snow to give it a little sparkle.  Unfortunately it is hard to get a photo showing this, but it does look pretty in real life.

Next up is Judy.  Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations using the front cover of the August – December 2020 Mini Catalogue for the inspiration.

What will you make using the front cover as your inspiration?  We’d love to see what you come up with so make sure you add a photo of your project to our Facebook page by clicking the image below.  Will your creation be chosen as this week’s Crew Pick?

Until next time, happy stamping

  1. Oh this is sooo clever. And what a perfect stamp set to use. Love it all. It really does look like the catalogue front!
