Welcome to the first week of our 2 week challenge for CTC264 where we are CASEing a Card from the January – June 2020 Mini Catalogue and giving it a masculine twist. Do you find masculine cards hard to make or do you enjoy making them? Having the right products/ stamp sets can make it easier.
This week I decided to take the Happy Mother’s Day square card (top card in image below) from the Best Dressed Suite on page 54 and give it a masculine twist. As you can see, I kept the sketch very similar but switched out the Suite that was being used with the Country Club Suite.
I started with a Night of Navy card base which I cut into a square card. I then added a mat from the Country Club DSP and then a further strip of the coordinating DSP (both in the Navy and Green tones). I don’t actually have this stamp set, so I love how you can cut up one of the sheets of DSP that has line images on it and coloured it using my Blends™.
I decided to leave the tassel and ribbon off, as it is a masculine card after all. I decided to add the golf ball & tees instead. I fussy cut these from the DSP and the sentiment comes from the A Good Man stamp set which I then cut out using one of the dies from the All Dressed Up Dies. I love how a card can have minimal stamping and still have impact.
Next up is Sandra with her paw-fect doggy card. Keep hopping around all of the design team’s blogs to see what they came up with this week.
What masculine twist are you going to put on your case? Remember you have two weeks for the challenge now. We’d love to see what you come up with.
Until next time, happy stamping
Michelle

That’s a great way to use DSP, fabulous card!
Such a fantastic card! I love how you’ve fussy cut some elements from the DSP, a great choice for embellishments.
Fabulous card Michelle, you’ve showcased this DSP perfectly. I love how you’ve coloured the line image, looks great.
Awesome colouring Michelle! Great card, and the fussy cut elements are just perfect!!
Beautiful colouring, Michelle. I love the square shape and the layers of plaid DSP. I really must get these panels out and colour them – thanks for the inspiration! 🙂 Siobhan.
