CTC263 – Happy Birthday with Poppies

Welcome to the second week of #CTC263 where we are CASEing the colours of the Kerchief Card Kit from the 2020 SAB catalogue.  If you remember, last week I used the colours from the blue toned card, so as promised, this week I am using the colours from the red toned card.  This means that I have used Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso and Whisper White.

As soon as I thought of these colours, the Peaceful Poppies Suite came to mind.  As I hadn’t used this suite yet, it was the perfect time to bring out the dies and get creating.

I started with a Poppy Parade card base and then added a layer of DSP from the Peaceful Poppies DSP that used the same colours.  I then cut out the different elements of the poppies & leaves from the Poppy Moments Dies in Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow and Early Espresso.

Once I layered these onto the DSP, they tended to blend into the background a bit so I decided to add a Whisper White strip which I tore and ran through the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder to give it a little more texture.  I finished the card off with the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on Pear Pizzazz cardstock and then cut this out using one of the dies from the All Dressed Up Dies.  Add a few Dimensionals™ and voila, the card was done.

Next up is Julia with her floral card.  Keep hopping around the whole design team and you might discover that a lot of us used the red tones this week whereas last week most of us used the blue tones.  We have no idea what the others are creating so it really was a coincidence.

You still have a week to join in the challenge and share your creation on our Facebook page.  Which colours will you choose for your project?  Will you choose the blues, the reds or a mixture of both?  We’d love to see it.

Until next time, happy stamping
