CTC253 – Come to Gather

Whether you’ve hopped on over from Peta’s creation or are starting here with me, I hope you’ve had a lovely week and are looking forward to seeing what the design team have come up with for this week’s challenge.

This week we are CASEing the Come to Gather Suite on pages 46-51 of the Holiday catalogue. I decided to choose the card below which is on page 51 but rather than CASEing the layout, I decided to case a technique.

I love how the leaves have the different colours on it so I created my own Christmas wreath with the help of my Stamparatus™. I positioned the leaf stamp from the Rooted in Nature stamp set. I inked up the stamp in Granny Apple Green and then used a sponge dauber with Shaded Spruce to add ink around the edges of the stamp before stamping it onto the page. I repeated this 8 times, turning my page 1/8 of a turn each time to create the entire wreath.

I added the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the wreath.  I finished the card off with Season’s Greetings sentiment from the So Many Stars stamp set and cut this out and a mat in Shaded Spruce using the Rectangles Stitched Dies.

I made a second card using Granny Apply Green and then sponged with Garden Green around the edges. The variance in colour isn’t as pronounced on this one as the colours are closer together.

Next up on the hop is Rachel with her super cute apple notebook.  Make sure you keep hopping around to check out all of the projects the design team has come up with. It isn’t too long until Christmas now, so make sure you get cracking on making your Christmas cards.

We would love to see what you come up with, so make sure you click on the image below and share it on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

  1. Beautiful wreaths, and the technique gives a nice outline too. Thanks for fixing the glitch Michelle. xx

  2. What a stunning way to colours the leaves. And use them for a wreath. So clever, and so beautiful. Love it.

  3. Wow, that leaf made a beautiful wreath, Michelle. Love the colours on the first one particularly, and the square card is a perfect for the shape.

  4. I absolutely stunning wreaths. I love that inking technique, it gives the leaves so much depth and interest. Your stamping is perfect – even with the Stamparatus you need to get that all lined up perfectly so I applaud you!! 🙂 Siobhan.
