As yesterday was World Cardmaking Day, I hope you had the opportunity to make a card or two. Another week has passed and it’s time for another CASEing the Catty challenge. This week we are CASEing the Toile Tidings Suite on pages 6-11 of the Holiday Catalogue.
As I love the So Many Stars stamp set and the Stitched Stars Dies, I decided to use these to create my card, or two and used the Season’s Greetings card in the top left of the image below as my starting point.
Rather than having a white background, I decided to create a sponged background and used Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue and Flirty Flamingo like the card on page 3 of the Holiday Catalogue. The star dies were cut out using the Silver Foil. All backed onto a Night of Navy card base.
For this first version I stamped the small background star stamp in Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink on the background. It’s a little hard to see in the photo so hopefully you can see it a little better on the angle shot below.
For my second card, I stamped the background stars in Versamark and heat embossed these with Silver Embossing Powder. This made the background stars stand out a little more. I used a Rich Razzleberry card base for this card and switched out the sentiments with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.
I think this stamp set and matching dies will be great for not only Christmas, but any occasion and you can save 10% by buying them as a bundle. Contact me if you would like to order this bundle I can help you out.
Next up on the hop is Rebecca. Make sure you keep hopping around to see not only what Rebecca has to share with us today, but the rest of the design team as well.
We’d love to see what you come up with using this suite. Make sure you jump onto our Facebook page and share your creation with us, no blog required.
Until next time, happy stamping
Michelle
Oooh, so pretty! Your backgrounds are fabulous. I think I like the silvery stars a little better, but they are both amazing cards.
Wow Michelle, these backgrounds look amazing. Love the colours you’ve used too.
Gorgeous cards, Michelle! Love the sponged backgrounds. I think the silver is my fave.
What a stunning background!! I think my favourite is with the embossed stars.
I adore this background – just fabulous! And the silver stars pop right off it. Perfect choice. 🙂 Siobhan.
