This week we are taking a layout from the Annual Catalogue and putting a holiday twist on it by using supplies from the Holiday Catalogue. I hope you get lots of ideas on how you can combine the Annual & Holiday Catalogues in your creations, so whether you have hopped on over from Siobhan’s creation or are starting here with me, make sure you keep hopping around to see all of the ideas.
This week I decided to case the aquarium looking card on page 153 of the Annual Catalogue. I loved the timber frame and what looks like a glass panel for the front of the aquarium/fish tank. So this is the part I took for my card, but instead of a fish tank, I turned it into a window, with you looking in from the outside.
I chose to use the #Elfie stamp set so that it looked like you were outside in the snow, looking into Santa’s workshop and some snow has landed on the window sill which I created using the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint.
The image was coloured in using my Blends™ and I chose to use Shaded Spruce, Real Red and Highland Heather as my main colours in this version. I added some Shimmery Crystal Effects to the bow, bells & top of the Santa’s Workshop post to add a little shimmer and extra dimension. It’s always so hard to see some of these things in photos.
I then made a second version with a lighter timber window frame, added a bit more snow and used Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade and Balmy Blue Blends™ and a touch of Wink of Stella to the bow, bells and top of the post.
I’m not sure whether I really achieved it to look as though you were looking through a window, but the #elfie stamp set is so cute, I was still happy with the card.
Next up is Elizabeth. Make sure you keep hopping around to check out all of the design team’s projects.
Until next time, happy stamping
