Noah’s Ark Baby Shower

Today I’m sharing another baby shower card as not only did I need to make a card for myself to give but also for my MIL to give. So this one is the one that I gave the mum to be on the weekend.

You may remember just over a year ago I made another Noah’s Ark card. Click here to see the previous post.  As some of these sets have now retired, I used a few different stamps/images.

This time rather than doing the whole ark on the water, I decided to do part of the ark with the animals walking two by two up onto the ark.

I have combined a number of stamp sets for the animals. Animal Outings stamp set for the kangaroos/koalas, giraffes and the frogs, Fable Friends stamp set for the ducks and Butterfly Gala stamp set for the butterflies. I stamped all of the images in Memento ink and coloured them using the Blends before fussy cutting or using the punch to cut them out.

I decided to create a double easel fold card however you see these normally in portrait orientation. Due to the way I wanted the Ark and land on this card, I turned the orientation to landscape to fit everything in.

The background piece was created by using Balmy Blue ink with a sponge dauber and then using the Shimmery White Embossing Paste with the cloud stencil (Pattern Party Decorative Masks).  For the front panel I used the brayer with Pear Pizzazz ink and then stamped the grass image from Fable Friends stamp set also in Pear Pizzazz.

I created the ark with Soft Suede cardstock with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder and Early Espresso strips of cardstock for the accents to the ark.

So which version do you prefer?  Last year’s Noah’s Ark or this year’s?

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
