First of all… I hope you are all enjoying a lovely Easter.
I missed out on participating in last week’s hop as I was travelling back from Onstage Live in Auckland. But I’m back again this week! You may have just hopped over from Shannon’s bright and cheery Easter goodies that she created, or you may be starting with me. Either way, welcome.
This week for CASEing the Catty it’s all about Easter. You can take a project from any of the catalogues and make it an Easter project or you can just create something that screams Easter to you. (I also have a few sneak peeks for you from the upcoming 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue).
I decided to use the Fable Friends gift bag/basket on page 31 of the occasions catalogue as my inspiration and created a little basket out of Crumb Cake cardstock. I started with an A5 sheet (half an A4) and then scored all four sides at 1 3/4”. You then cut along the score line up to the intersection on one side of the four corners so that they can fold in and secured with glue. I used the Basket Weave Embossing Folder on panels to stick to the outside and a handle which is 2cm wide.
These days there are so many allergies and dietary requirements, so I decided to make some Easter Eggs that everyone can enjoy whether they are vegan, but free, dairy free, gluten free etc. Everyone can enjoy paper eggs!
In my first egg I used the 10 colours from the Brights 6 x 6” DSP and cut out an egg shape in each. I then folded each egg shape in half and adhered it with glue to the next one until I got to the last one and then stuck that one to the first one. This then went inside a clear fillable egg and I attached a ribbon so it can be hung up.
The second egg I made using the new Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP that we were given at Onstage from the upcoming 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue.
I finished off the basket with a sentiment from the new Delightful Day stamp set and a bow made from the new Linen Ribbon with White edges from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your Easter weekend.
Next up on the hop is Monique. Make sure you keep hopping around to see the other products from the design team for this week.
If you’ve created any Easter projects this week, make sure you add it to our Facebook page.
Until next time, happy stamping
Michelle
[…] up on this Easter hop is my lovely friend Michelle over in the Adelaide […]
Love 💕!! What a cool idea. Wish I would have seen this earlier to give to my coworkers who are gluten free!! Where did you get the clear eggs to add the dsp to???
I got the clear eggs from Spotlight, however you can make the eggs without the clear eggs just by adhering the egg shapes together and add the ribbon/string to the inside before adhering the first and last pieces together. Circle or stars are also great at Christmas time.
Such a great idea, I love them
I love these eggs! They are so clever and gorgeous too. What a beautiful Easter gift. And Thankyou for the sneak peek! Squee.
Ha ha – allergy free vegan friendly eggs indeed! Very clever. Can’t wait to see that mosaic DSP, I have a feeling I’m going to love it! A very cool creation.
Cute gift basket Michelle and I love your paper eggs, great idea.
Your eggs are fabulous! I’ve never seen the clear eggs before, but what a great idea. The basket for them is super sweet too.
What a great idea!! And I love the basket. So nice to meet you in Auckland.
