CTC221 – Embossing Paste Backgrounds

Welcome to another CASEing the Catty Design Team blog hop.  Whether you are starting with me or have just hopped over from Siobhan’s lovely creation, welcome.  This week we are CASEing the Needlepoint Nook section of the Occasions catalogue on pages 38-41.

As I don’t have any of the stamp sets or dies in this section, I decided to case the technique of the square card on page 40.

I started off by mixing some Grapefruit Grove reinker with the Shimmery White Embossing Paste and then applied it to some Whisper White cardstock using the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. It’s hard to get a photo of the shimmer but hopefully you can see it a little bit in the photo below.

I then cut this down to 14.3cm x 10cm and attached it to a Grapefruit Grove card base.  The sentiment comes from one of the Sale-a-bration Coordination items, More than Words stamp set.  The word “Wishes” is a two-step stamping stamp and I used Grapefruit Grove on both steps to create the darker section on the bottom part.

I then cut the sentiment out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits, applied some dimensionals and some of the Grapefruit Grove Organdy Ribbon (which was so popular during Sale-a-bration that it sold out) and voila … the card was finished.  It’s a fairly simple card but I liked it was it was and decided not to add anything further to it.

Next up on the hop is Shannon. Make sure you keep hopping around to see her amazing project, along with all of the other Design Team Members.

If you have created a card or other project which matches this week’s challenge, please share it with us on our Facebook page by clicking the image below.  No blog or business Facebook page is necessary.

Until next time, happy stamping
