CTC213 – Floral Romance (masculine version)

Welcome to another week at CASEing the Catty.  Whether you are starting here with me or have hopped on over from Lauren’s blog, welcome.

This week we are CASEing the Floral Romance Suite on pages 10-13 of the Occasions Catalogue.  You may have noticed that I’m not really a floral person and have been using the butterflies a lot lately, so I decided to do something a bit different this week.

I chose to case the pink floral card on the right hand side of the image above, but really turned it on its head.  Rather than a pretty floral card, I decided to make a masculine version of this layout.  To start with I turned the card on its side making it landscape rather than portrait.  I kept the embossed layer, however I have used the Classic Garage DSP that was then run through the Hexagons Embossing Folder and attached to a Tranquil Tide card base.

I cut two lots of the gears from the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies in Tranquil Tide and then used a sponge dauber with Tranquil Tide ink to “grunge” them up a little.  I finished the card off by stamping the sentiment in Tranquil Tide ink on Smoky Slate cardstock, then cut it out using the fantastic new Stitched Rectangle Framelits Dies and added a little bit of Smoky Slate sponging.  By changing the sentiment on the inside of the card, you could use this card for many different occasions.  It could become a thank you, birthday or father’s day card.

Next up is the amazingly talented Kelly.  I always loving seeing what she has come up with and today is no exception.

If you would like to join in with this week’s challenge, make sure you click on the image below and share your card on our Facebook page.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle

  1. The hexagon embossed folder looks awesome with the garage gears elements! What a brilliant guy card and amazing case from the original.
