CTC212 – Baby Bear for SAB

Welcome to another week of the CASEing the Catty Challenge.  This week we are casing the Sale-a-bration catalogue again.  You may be hopping on over from Rose’s blog or starting with me.  Either way, welcome, and make sure you keep hopping around to get lots of inspiration.

When I first started making my card I was casing one image from the catalogue, but as it went along, I ended up changing the card I was casing.  This is the image I ended up on.

So I started with a square Balmy Blue card base and instead of the embossed mat, I switched this out with a mat of the Balmy Blue Gingham Gala DSP.  The next square layer was Whisper White which I stamped the bear image from the Baby Bear stamp set using the Stamparatus (as it makes it so much easier to line up the 3 layers to get the 3D look of the bear).  I used Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Crumb Cake (stamped off) for the 3 inks in the bear.

I was originally going to put the sentiment towards the bottom like the card I cased, but it didn’t look right so I moved it up to the top left corner.  I then finished it off with a little bow using the Balmy Blue Organdy Ribbon, which is free during Sale-a-bration.

It was only after I finished the card that I realised I had used products from all 3 current catalogues – 2018-2019 Annual, 2019 Occasions and the Sale-a-bration catalogue.

Next up on the blog hop is Judy.  Make sure you keep hopping around to see what the rest of the design team made.

Until next time, happy stamping

  1. Great way to show how an idea can develop from the starting point, and I love the Organdy Ribbon bow with your sweet bear.

  2. What a sweet card, Michelle and your bear looks so huggable! Creativity is a wonderful journey and I love how it morphs ideas into something fresh and new.

  3. That’s so cool that you’ve combined products from all three catalogues into what is quite a simple (but lovely) card. I love the process you went through to CASE this. He’s a very sweet bear indeed.
