Tip your hat to the new catalogue

To celebrate the new catalogue, I wanted to share a 3D item I made for my display board at Onstage Sydney.  Onstage is a demonstrator event where the new catalogue was launched to us and I was lucky enough to be chosen to make some samples using new products to be displayed at the event.

I started off by making this top hat using the In Colour 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper in Powder Pink from the 2017-2019 In Colours.  I finished if off with the 3/8″ Mini Ruffled Ribbon in Powder Pink and the 2017-2019 In Colour Flower Buttons.

Once I had made the top hat, I then started thinking about how I could display it as our samples were being attached to a board and it wouldn’t look very good if I attached it by the base.  So I decided to make a hat box to showcase it.  I made an explosion box as the base and cut out a square at the front and put in some window sheet so you could see into the box.

I added strips of the Berry Burst paper from the same DSP to hold the corners together and raised the hat on a little platform.  The “Happy Birthday” Sentiment comes from the Special Celebrations stamp set and cut out using the new Stitched Labels Framelits.

I finished the box off with the Berry Burst Mini Ruffled Ribbon and a bow made using the Envelope Punch Board.

I hope you enjoyed this project which was a bit outside the box (or inside the box on this occasion). Sorry, yes pun intended.  I look forward to sharing more projects using some of the items from the new catalogue over the coming weeks.

Until next time, happy stamping

Michelle
