Thinking of You … Stained Glass Butterflies

I needed to make a card for an extended family member who had recently lost their mum. I wanted it to be simple, but elegant and to pass on that we were thinking of them during this difficult time.

I decided to use the CASEing the Catty Challenge 174 which is CASEing the Hostess Sets and Memories & More sections as my inspiration.

I cased the middle card on Page 222 of the Annual Catalogue as I liked the look of the vellum over the top of the Black cardstock.

I stamped the Lovely as a Tree image on the vellum. I also stamped the butterfly image from the new Painted Glass Stamp Set (which will be available from June 1st) onto some scrap pieces of vellum and then coloured the back of the vellum with Stampin’ Write Markers in Sweet Sugarplum, Powder Pink, Flirty Flamingo, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig. I then cut the butterflies out using the matching dies and adhered them using the glue dots.

I thought the sentiment “thinking of you” sentiment was appropriate and it comes from the Colourful Seasons Stamp Set and was stamped in Berry Burst.

I had a bit of trouble getting a ribbon to work as they were too thick or too thin but finally got the new black cord to work however it wouldn’t stay tied in a bow so I ended up doing a knot.

Until next time, happy stamping,

Michelle
