A wedding congratulations

My husband and I were invited to a wedding of one of his mates, so of course I had to make the wedding card.  I couldn’t turn up with a store bought card.

I decided to use this week’s CASEing the Catty challenge as the base to my card.  This week the section being CASE’d is the Petal Passion Suite on pages 22-27 of the Occasions Catalogue.

I decided to CASE the “Life is so good” card in the bottom right hand corner of the image above from page 22.

I like to try to match the colours/theme of the wedding when making the card.  What do you think?  Here is my card next to the invitation.

I started off with a Powder Pink card base. I used a sheet from the Petal Passion DSP for the mat and used the Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker™ to colour in the flowers. I then cut a square of black cardstock and dusted it with the Embossing Buddy so that it wasn’t quite as black.  I used a white gel pen to create the faux stitching.

The cake image comes from the Cake Soirée Stamp Set which I heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. I then used the light & dark Pink Pirouette Blends™, along with the Pear Pizazz and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers™ to colour in the flowers & leaves on the cake.  It was then cut out using the Sweet Cake Framelits Dies.

The “Congratulations” sentiment comes from the Special Celebrations Stamp Set which I heat embossed with White Embossing Powder.

I finished the card off by colouring some Pearl Basic Jewels with the Pink Pirouette Blends™.

I hope the bride & groom have a wonderful day and that they like the card that I have created for them.

Until next time, happy stamping
